Gum Treatment

Gum disease is a bacterial infection that destroys the bone anchoring your teeth, usually without pain. Treatment removes the deposits inside the pockets, then measures whether the pockets close. Where they do not, we reassess rather than repeat the same step indefinitely.
Bone lost to periodontitis does not grow back on its own. Stopping the process early is the difference between keeping your teeth and planning implants in ten years.

Benefits

  • Bleeding usually stops within two weeks
  • Pocket depths measured before and after
  • Slows or halts bone loss
  • Protects existing crowns, bridges and implants
  • Maintenance interval set from your actual risk

The procedure

  1. 01 Full periodontal charting with six points per tooth
  2. 02 Radiographic assessment of bone levels
  3. 03 Root surface debridement under local anaesthetic
  4. 04 Hygiene coaching specific to the affected sites
  5. 05 Reassessment after eight to twelve weeks
  6. 06 Surgical treatment or maintenance depending on response

Technology

Digital periodontal charting, piezoelectric debridement, and adjunctive laser or local antimicrobials where indicated.

Aftercare

Periodontitis is controlled, not cured: maintenance visits every three to four months are what keep it stable. Smoking cessation has a larger effect on the outcome than any product we can sell you.

In our patients’ words

They measured every pocket before and after and gave me both charts. Bleeding stopped in ten days after years of being told to "brush better".
